SG Electrician adds, shifts and replaces power points in HDB flats, condos, landed homes, shops and offices across Singapore, with exposed or concealed wiring. Every point is tested before we leave and covered by a 90-day workmanship warranty.
More sockets, in the right places
Need more sockets, or sockets somewhere more useful? Running extension cords across the room and stacking adapters is how sockets overheat. Adding a proper point is safer and tidier.
What we do
- New power points
- Shifting existing points to a new spot
- Replacing old, loose or damaged sockets
- Dedicated points for water heaters, aircon and ovens
Plan where the sockets go
Think about where the TV, desk, bedside tables, kitchen appliances and chargers will actually sit. Sockets placed for the furniture you have now, not the furniture the previous owner had, save you years of extension cords. Tell us the room layout and we’ll suggest positions.
Dedicated points for high-load appliances
Water heaters, ovens, induction hobs and aircon units draw a lot of current. They should have their own dedicated point and circuit, not share a socket with other appliances. We’ll check whether your DB box and circuits can take the extra load before we add them.
Why Singapore sockets are 3-pin
Homes and offices in Singapore use 3-pin sockets with an earth wire. The earth gives stray current a safe path to ground if something goes wrong. We install and test every point we fit.
Exposed or concealed wiring?
Exposed (in trunking): cheaper and faster, no hacking, and easy to add points later. It is more visible and needs care when repainting.
Concealed (in the wall): neater, but it needs hacking, so it’s usually done during a renovation. Repairs later may mean opening the wall again.
HDB has specific rules on hacking walls for concealed wiring. Tell us your property type and we’ll advise what’s allowed.
Signs a socket needs attention
- Scorch marks, a burning smell or a hot faceplate
- Plugs that feel loose or fall out
- Crackling or sparks when you plug something in
- The power trips when the socket is used
- No power after water seepage
Please don’t DIY electrical work. A small job done properly costs far less than fixing the damage from one done wrong.
What affects the price
The number of points, how far each is from an existing circuit, exposed or concealed wiring, and whether a new circuit is needed at the DB box. Send us the room and where you want the points, and we’ll give you a price before any work starts.

Common questions
Can you add a socket without hacking the wall?
Yes. Exposed wiring in trunking needs no hacking. It’s quicker and cheaper, and it’s easy to add more points later.
Can I add more sockets to an existing circuit?
Often, yes, as long as the circuit can take the load. We check that first. High-load appliances usually need their own circuit.
Do I need a separate point for my water heater or oven?
Yes. High-load appliances should have their own dedicated point so they don’t overload a shared circuit.
Do you work in HDB flats?
Yes, as well as condos, landed homes, shops and offices. HDB has rules on hacking walls, and we’ll advise what’s allowed for your flat.
